Just Fur Kicks or (JFK) as we call ourselves is a small mascot/art business created by the combined efforts and talents of its two founders Felica and Jewel. We are currently based out of the United States with in the state of Maryland.
Our items are hand made we strive for customer satisfaction and quality.
Please read all of the information in our shop policies and ask us any questions about the products. Once you have submitted payment, you acknowledge that you have agreed to these policies. So, please take a moment to read everything through.
Please make sure that you read, understand, and ask questions about the commission process before committing to buy. The commission process is the same.
Talk to your child about what they want or have them make you a description or drawing. Send us the description or the drawing so we can give you a quote and discuss the details.
Discuss the time frames involved with the project with your child and make sure you understand them.
If you wish for JFK’s artist L’Hiver to directly communicate with your child on the details of the project you must give consent in writing. Otherwise, L’Hiver will wish to only communicate with you directly. Should you have a child communicate with us from your account without making the distinction for example “This is Tiffany’s Mom” etc… we will have no choice but to assume we are talking directly with you.
We do not accept payments from persons under age 18 as they cannot enter into a contract per law in our State. Parents must handle all financial transactions and approve of them.
We accept all major credit cards, including MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
We accept payments through Etsy, including Etsy gift cards. Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
We accept payments via PayPal. Do not mark PayPal payments as “Friends and Family.” Please only send PayPal payments marked as “Goods and Services.” This provides PayPal’s “Purchase Protection” to you as well as us in most circumstances.
We accept cash at conventions or events only. Do not send cash in the mail or via any other shipping method.
If you wish to pay using a money order, please talk to us first. Please do not send money orders without talking to us first.
We do not accept checks of any kind at this time.
Payment plan payments are done via PayPal.
Payment plans are available for orders over $100.
Payment deadlines: Payment for an order through Etsy is due at the time of check out unless prior negotiated or the order qualifies for a payment plan.
We no longer accept cancellations for any reason. However. If there is a problem with your order please contact us.
We accept payment plans under the following terms (custom orders and fursuits only):
30% down of total - this is not refundable as it helps cover material costs
$100 minimum a month until balance is paid off
The purchaser is responsible to make on time agreed upon payments. Failure to make three (3) on time payments will result in no refund and the cancellation of your order.
If you are unable to make a payment, please let us know. We understand if something happens where, for example, you can’t make a payment one month but will be able to resume payments the following month.
Custom order payment(s) are due on time either at check out or at a predetermined and agreed upon date between JFK and the purchaser.
Please allow 1-7 business days inside the US for the item to reach you once completed and 10-14 business days anywhere else. These times are an estimate shipping times depends on the postal service we are not responsible for delays.
We primarily ship items using the United States Postal Service (USPS). We receive materials primarily through the USPS. If you would like us to ship your order using a different shipping method, please tell us ahead of time.
As of 2/11/2021, the USPS is experiencing delays due to COVID-19. As a result, we have experienced significant delays in receiving materials as well as significant delays for customers receiving their orders.
These delays sometimes do not affect order shipments or receiving materials but are often the rule rather than the exception.
Please be patient while we wait for the materials for your order and while your order is being shipped. We will keep you up-to-date as much as possible regarding receiving materials and the shipment of your order.
Please make sure your address is correct, especially in Etsy. If the shipping address is not correct, please tell us as soon as possible before we ship your order.
If you do not tell us that the address initially provided is not correct, we will assume that it is correct and ship your order to the address provided. If this occurs and your item is returned you would need to repay for shipping.
If your item is returned to us, we will reach out to you about re-shipping the item and the cost of re-shipping. If we do not hear a response back from you with in a month. The items are considered abandoned and you will not get a refund.
If you contact us after the month wait time for abandoned orders, we will work with you to reship the item or resell it and give you a partial refund at the value the item sold for. We will only hold returned items for 4 months. Once the 4 months are up, we will resell the items. You will not be refunded should this occur.
We ship from Maryland, which is in the United States. International customers are solely responsible for customs and import fees of the country you are in. It is your responsibility to know what these fees are beforehand.

But please contact me if you have any problems with your order.
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
There are no returns, refunds or exchanges for completed custom ordered items or fursuits.
For custom orders or fursuits there are no refunds after 7 days of the Total or FINAL payment is made.
There are no refunds for the following: Buyer's remorse, adding to/attempting to repair the item yourself -resulting in damage or loss of the item-, soiled items, failure to provide a correct address (i.e. lost mail), wearing an item to an event and returning it.
We have the right to decline a sale for any reason. If this is the result, full refunds will be given.
For custom ordered items or fursuits: 30% of the FINAL order price is non-refundable for the cost of materials.
For all other regular stock items and choose your color products:
Buyer must request a refund within 7 days of receiving the item. The item must be returned to JFK for a full refund.
To expedite the refund process please provide a viable tracking number.
If no tracking number is provided, the refund will be given once the item has been received by JFK.
If the item is not returned or a tracking number has been falsified then no refund will be given.
Exchanges: Etsy Store Items :
Exchanges can be made if requesting the same item ordered with the exception of fursuits.
Buyer is responsible for return shipping of original ordered item and JFK is responsible for shipping of exchanged items.
Items damaged as a result of mail mishandling will be resolved in this manner as well.
Items broken (Intentional or unintentional) by the buyer and unable to be repaired and or resold are not eligible for exchange.
Currently JFK operates for only a few hours a night during the week and all day Saturday and Sunday. All of the team members of JFK have full time jobs and outside responsibilities.
All of JFK items are handmade. We use a combination of hand sewing and machine sewing.
Our fursuits come with a 1 year warranty against creation defects. This includes all seam work. Popped seam? Loose nose? Ear torn? Even if it’s your fault we will fix it!
***Our warranty does not cover the following: warped/broken hinges and all electronic components as we do not wire our own electronics.
The buyer must pay shipping to JFK only under the warranty and JFK will handle return shipping costs. (Items being returned for warranty must be insured when sending.)
For our fursuits that are more than 1 year old and the warranty has expired:
We can accept the fursuit for repairs to anything covered by the warranty. There will be a fee for repair work which starts at $20.00 per hour plus the cost of materials. This will be discussed with the buyer before sending the suit back for the repair.
When inquiring about custom orders please let us know up front about any deadlines you want to meet, when you will be purchasing the item and a budget if there is one. Please also try to include references or a written description of what you're looking to have created.
Buyers are responsible for reading the NEWS tab in the shop BEFORE purchase and AFTER for any delays. This section is located right under the shop’s banner. This section is dedicated to inform customers of order deadlines, material orders placed for out of stock items, vendor delays, mass package carrier delays and any natural or life event which may delay production or shipping.
If you choose to work out a payment plan or payment arrangement with us please make sure to keep in touch with us and make your payments on time. Once the custom listing expires for your item and its completed regardless of the outstanding balance owed on the item we reserve the right to retain all unpaid funds as payment and resell the item to recoup the losses from non-payment. As we are completing custom items for customers and they are not finishing the payments on the items they've ordered.
Dye lots on faux fur can change based on manufacturer's dying lot. If you need a matching color fur please contact us so we can photograph for you the dye lot we have in stock. We are not responsible for dye lot changes. Photos of the colors offered are an estimate of the colors available and may not reflect the actual tone in stock with us at the moment.
During the colder winter months: LATE November through early March each year the studio is heated with a wood stove and kerosene heaters. During these months it is possible to have items arrive with a slight 'campfire' like smell. We Febreze items before packaging during these times to try to prevent it. Materials and items are never in contact with the wood or stove themselves.
We also test candles and incense in the same studio. We cannot guarantee your items will arrive odor free 100% of the time we try our best though. We DO Febreze items before sending them. You can always wash items if you dislike the smell.
Felica and Jewel own a dog. Our dog Loli has free roam of our studio space and often accompanies us in the studio. She does not come into contact with material used for orders. She does come in contact with pre-made items for photos sometimes. She is quite the photo bomb! Please keep this in mind when ordering.
JFK is not responsible for: delays caused by the package carrier, inaccurate measurements provided by customers, buyer's remorse and back ordered material delays. (If we are aware of back ordered material or package carrier delays you will be notified individually if it effects singular orders or via the news tab if it affects multiple orders)
